The soft call sheet.

Not a list of tasks. A way of seeing the quiet acts that let a wedding breathe. These are the things to notice—and, if you can, to make room for.

A person who knows where the quiet is.

Every full room needs somebody who can find a balcony, a car, an empty stairwell, or simply a less crowded edge.

A hand that gives water before it is requested.

This is almost never about the glass. It is about remembering that adrenaline has a body.

A friend assigned only to being near.

Not the coordinator. Not the problem-solver. The person allowed to stand beside you without needing a result.

A small job surrendered early.

Let someone else carry the card box, check the weather, answer the vendor message. Delegation is not distance; it is an invitation to participate.

A meal made for the makers.

Build it into the day as deliberately as the first toast. Care is more believable when it is fed.

The useful thing about these gestures is that they cannot be purchased in a hurry. They are made from presence, which is still the rarest material in a room.
